Candidate statements:

Area 1 - Mike Ogilvie:

My name is Mike Ogilvie and I am asking for your vote in the March election of the Tierrasanta Community Council and Planning Group.

My wife and I have lived in the Monserate neighborhood since 1974, almost original owners. Our three children attended all tof he schools within Tierrasanta except Kumeyyay, which wasn't there at the time. I have served on the Tierrasanta Community Council  several times and am serving now, appointed to fill a vacant position. If elected, I will serve for two years.

My concerns are maintaining and improving the quality of life and safety within the community, either by addressing issues that come before the Community Council or those initiated by the Community Council. Schools, development projects, the trails within the canyons and open space, traffic and speeding, infrastructure including street pavement and sidewalk condition are specific issues.

I believe my experience and knowledge of the community will be useful assets to the Community Council. Thank you.

Area 2 - Dawn Nielsen Lostritto:

I am asking for your vote for Area 2 Director. My past experience includes having served on the Tierrasanta Community Council/Planning Group since 2012, with the last year as Vice President and 2 years as Secretary. Having lived in this community 29 years, I raised an Eagle Boy Scout and a Gold Award Girl Scout, and volunteered in many Tierrasanta organizations. I am now retired after working 38 years at the County of San Diego as a Deputy Agricultural Commissioner.

Tierrasanta needs thoughtful leadership for community issues, ensuring our quality of life for residents. I will work to represent the best interests of all Tierrasantans and appreciate your vote.

Area 3 - Donald Chick:

My name is Donald Chick and I am asking for your consideration as a Tierrasanta Community Council representative. I have lived in Tierrasanta since 1989 and this would be the second time I have represented the community on the Council. I moved to Tierrasanta about a year after marrying my wife, Stephanie and my son, Eric was born two years later in 1991. In addition to my volunteer efforts on the Community Council, I was a volunteer as a coach in Little League, basketball, and soccer.

I worked for the Navy for over thirty years managing software development, aircraft repair, and construction and public works projects. I am currently the President & CEO of New Synergist Consulting and an Assistant Professor of Doctoral Studies at Colorado Technical University.

My focus as a Community council member would include noise issues including Miramar and the Montgomery field and Gillespie Field airports. This would be in addition to traffic concerns and environmental efforts at Mission Trails Park.

Area 4 - Steve Muckle:

Prior to moving to Tierrasanta at the end of 2016 I served on the board of directors for the HOA at my previous townhome residence in Sorrento Valley. Since April of 2017 I have served on the TCC as Treasurer. My responsibilities have included but are not limited to proposing the budget, filing taxes, having our finances audited, and working with the concert in the parks committee to administer the annual county grant that funds those concerts.

Supporting and protecting our open spaces, keeping our community peaceful, and working with the city to achieve timely infrastructure repairs are a few of the causes I am motivated by. Prior to my current employment with Google I worked for Qualcomm for over ten years along with a couple other smaller companies for a year and a half each.

I would be honored to have your vote for the Tierrasanta Community Council.

Area 4 - Kathleen Mueller:

My name is Kathleen Mueller and I am a candidate for a director vacancy on the TCC Council. I have been a resident of Tierrasanta for 33 years and I am a retired school teacher. Being a homeowner here for many years, my interest in the community has expanded from my own neighborhood homeowners board to the greater Tierrasanta community. Now I have the time and interest to serve on the TCC Council.

I have attended council meetings in 2018-2019 and I have found that the meetings are very informative and relevant to issues that effect Tierrasanta residents. Issues developing in the wider San Diego City/County communities and California State government, can effect living circumstances in the Tierrasanta community. Being informed of potential changes and sharing that news; as well as, having the opportunity to serve the community and assist neighbors would be a very rewarding experience. I ask for your votes. Thank you.
